Disney Afternoon Tribute (Part 1): Where to Start?

Hello folks, do you remember watching Disney Afternoon when you were a kid? Well a lot of people do seems having a childhood meromies of their fave TDA shows back in the day when it was used to be, just like Doug Walker (aka Nonstagic Critic) who like Disney animated series mostly.

The reason why I made the blog entry is this year marks 20^th Anniversary of The Disney Afternoon block on Toon Disney (it was changed to Disney XD on Feb 13, 2009) (unlucky day, huh?). We’ll looking back of best of TDA series, Disney-centric of NC review & many more.

How all begins? Well let’s find out

On September 10, 199, The Disney Afternoon began as a 2-hour of syndicated programs that began airing in 1990. the block first saw on FOX (not sure), the fall preview of TDA block was shown during in summer of 1989 before the block premiered on FOX or CBC (hard to tell which one).

TELETOON (Part 7): The 2000s & Conclusion

Now we're going tell you the most common shows in 200s series such as Robo Roach, Ratz, Birdz (rerun only) and most popular TELETOON series: Total Dram Island (according to CN).

.Redwall

Redwall was the series on TELETOON about young mouse who was tried to save his father from nasty rat and he has to go long journay and serch for in each chapter (episode), he also makes new friends to help me along.

Yakkity Yak

Yakkity Yak is a television program that ran on Nickelodeon from November 9 to December 12, 2003. Yakkity Yak was canceled on December 11 with 26 episodes, due to a generally low fanbase. However the episode "Fairy Yakkity" was declared as the final episode and other different episodes were never shown on Nickelodeon. Although it was added to the Nicktoons Network schedule for a few years, it was removed from the rotation on March 2, 2007. The show was known for its extreme lack of reality, and for its extreme silliness and featured a style of animation which broke with past Nickelodeon tradition. The show features an anthropomorphic yak named Yakkity who wants to make it to stardom by becoming a comedian. Along the way, he has adventures with his two best friends Keo (an actual anthropomorphic pineapple) and Lemony. The show's slogan, "It's Just Plain Stupid," may have turned potential viewers away.

Wayside

Wayside (also known as Wayside School) is a Canadian and American co-produced animated television series airing on TELETOON in Canada and Nickelodeon in the United States and European countries such as Netherlands and Germany, based on the Sideways Stories From Wayside School book series by Louis Sachar. Originally a one-hour television movie on Teletoon in November 2005, 26 episodes of the series have been commissioned for 2007. Each episode is composed of two 15-minute shorts. As a production of both Teletoon and Nickelodeon, Wayside holds the distinction of being the only series to be both a Teletoon Original and Nicktoon.
In the US, Wayside aired on Nickelodeon weekdays at 12:30pm ET in the United States from June-July 2007, but it has been moved to 3:30pm ET weekdays (as of now, though, the show has been replaced by The Penguins of Madagascar). As of September 1, 2007, it also airs on the Nicktoons Network, where it currently airs at 3:00am ET. The show has received mostly negative reviews, having only 634 views in its first day. In Canada, it airs on Teletoon every Saturday at 8am ET and 4:30pm ET.

The opening theme is performed by Skye Sweetnam. The series is directed by Riccardo Durante and the head writer/story editor was John Derevlany, who wrote the pilot and developed the series. The pilot was released to DVD under the title Wayside: The Movie, on September 25, 2007. The DVD of the 1st season was released on August 19, 2008.

TELETOON (Part 6): Fly Tales

Fly Tales is an animated television series made in 1999. It featured the short adventures of a ball shaped fly. The Fly would come into sticky situations but always somehow manage to escape. The theme featured The Fly flying through several commonplace areas such as the kitchen. The show was often shown on Cartoon Network at 5 o'clock in the morning after The Magic Roundabout and before Flying Rhino Junior High, in the UK.

TELETOON (Part 5): RoboRoach

Back in 2000 (or 2001), i watched RoboRoach which ran on Teletoon in Canada and Jetix in Europe. It follows the story of a cockroach named Rube and his brother Reg. While scavenging for food, as seen in the introduction film, Rube is caught and experimented on. His brother saves him, but when they jump in a plug, Rube is transformed forever into a roboroach, a half-robot half-cockroach. After that he swears to use his powers only for the good of everyone and never for personal use, unfortunately for Reg.

As you can see, this show has 30 minutes in each episode and it could the only rare find to download the episodes (expectally you can't find it at YouTube but only has intro sequence).

Teletoon (Part 4): Doodlez Shorts

Back in 2001, TELETOON has very own original short series called 'Doodlez' but not likely was Oh Yeah Cartoons shorts such as FOP. so we'll be reviewing this one instead, this short series was the character named Doodlez who was trying get something until this hand tried to destory him (this shoet series were mostly like Looney Tunes shorts 'Duck Amuck & 'Rabbit Rampage').

Parmount Picture: Itsy Bitsy Spider (1992)

Here's something that no one never had found some shorts as noe of the company like Walt Disney & Warner Bros so what about Parmount Pictures? well, they did with release of first short with Itsy Bitsy Spider (7-minute short) as led-in to Beke's Kids in theaters as well in DVD.

Walt Disney: Return to 2D Animation

After 75 Years of Magic, Walt Disney has decided to bring 2d animation returned since Home Of The Range was last animated movie in 2004 but again they wanted 2d animation return with all-new Walt Disney Animated Movie: The Princess and the Frog.

Do you remember how Fox used to be? well we do remember that back in 1990, FOX has two version of It's on Fox theme, one is orinigal version and other is Fox Kids version (came in 1992).

TELETOON (Part 3): Donkey Kong Country

I remember the show based of video game was Donkey Kong Country was only have 2 seasons which is first CGI & TELETOON series was being maded in Canada & Franc 2 (studio). it follows the adventures with Donkey Kong & and his friends were protect from crstyal ball.

Donkey Kong Country is a joint between France and Canada computer-generated animated television series based on the Nintendo franchise Donkey Kong as portrayed in the Donkey Kong Country video game series by Rare. The series was created by French studio France 2 and Nelvana. It was originally titled La Planète Donkey Kong. It first aired in France on September 4, 1996; it premiered late in the United States on the Fox Kids block on FOX in August 15, 1998. After only 2 episodes, the cartoon later moved to Fox Family.

The show begins by portraying Donkey Kong, a regular ape in the jungle who happens to stumble upon a magic coconut called the Crystal Coconut that summons (at Donkey's command) a pile of magic bananas. After Donkey and his friends consume the bananas, they are granted with increased intelligence and strength, enabling them to defeat enemies such as K. Rool and Kaptain Skurvy, who wish to possess the Crystal Coconut for themselves. Each episode features two songs performed by cast members.

Four episodes were released in North America on a single VHS cassette titled, Donkey Kong Country: The Legend of the Crystal Coconut and was marketed as a feature length film. However, these episodes are not in chronological order, as a flashback shown in the third episode actually occurs in the fourth episode of the tape. The U.S.A. Version of the Tape was distributed by: Paramount Pictures, Nintendo, and Nelvana.
Donkey Kong Country was one of the earlier television series to be computer-animated to match the artistic style of the Rare video game series, and garnered critical acclaim in France and Japan but only marginal success in the West. Several elements of the series appeared in later Donkey Kong Country video games such as Donkey Kong 64, which was released a year after the show had started airing on FOX. It later aired on Fox Family.

The show had a large line of merchandise in Japan including a collectible card game, featuring drawings of characters some that never appeared in the series. The card game was later adapted to be based on Donkey Kong 64. The television series took over the TV Tokyo 6:30 P.M. timeslot from Gokudo, and was later replaced with Hamtaro.

TELETOON (Part 2): Ned's Newt

Some of you remember the show called Ned's Newt it was first TELETOON series will be production in Germary. it ran from 1993 to 1995 (Germary) 1997 to 1998 (Canada) it has 3 Seasons and it also shown on Fox Kids in 1998 & 1999 later reruns on Fox Famuly Network.

The series begins with Ned finally scraping up enough money to buy a pet. However, upon reaching the pet store, the only thing he can actually afford is a newt. Dubbing his new pet "Newton", Ned quickly tires of it, since Newton just lies on the rock in his bowl. Complaining to the pet store owner that his new pet isn't very active, the owner gives Ned a can of 'Zippo for Newt' pet food, but warns Ned not to give his pet too much. Ned feeds Newton a little, but Newton does nothing. Ned leaves the can beside Newton's bowl and goes to bed.
That night, Newton crawls from his bowl and gulps down several mouthfuls of Zippo. Thus, the 'too much' warning comes true: Newton grows 6 feet tall, can talk (voiced by Harland Williams), and has the power to shapeshift. After Ned realizes this, he and Newton become the best of friends, but unfortunately the effects of Zippo don't last forever. In fact, Newton often gets Ned into trouble, at which point the Zippo wears off and Newton shifts back to his smaller form, leaving Ned alone to bear the wrath of his elders.

The series recounts the misadventures of Ned attempting to live a normal life while trying to keep Newton from being discovered. Recurring plots involve Ned and Newton working to fix situations which Newton has helped go awry, Ned's hopeless crush on his neighbor, Linda Bliss (who reduces Ned to speaking in gibberish) and his rivalry with snobbish Rusty McCabe for Linda's affections.

TELETOON (Part 1): Introdouction

Well, in recent year i had watched TELETOON when i first started watching in 1995 (when i wwas a kid). I always watch it every day after-school i watch my favorite shows like: Timy Toons, Ace Veture, The Ripping Friends (also seen on Fox Kids in 2001) and many more. Every Wednesday & Friday (possbie on Sunday) , i'll be showing some merioes that had broadcast on TELETOON all the years starting from 1995 to 2004 (just like peple did some reviews there merioes from around the world).

Why did they called TELETOON? well Canada's answer to Amercia's Cartoon Network, they've shared (50%) Canadian shows (as of 2008) and (50%) of Amercian shows from CN to TELETOON. It also co-production with CN, Jetix, Breakthrough & Atomic Cartoons. the first Candian-Ameroca show is Ed Edd & Eddy (Season 1) it was very such good sucess although it's popular on CN & TELETOON. Ed Edd & Eddy was premiering during Cartoon Network friday night block called 'Cartoon Cartoon Fridays' (started from 1998 to 2002).

TELETOON also has Station ID's started in 1992 and it space theme ident but in 2002 it stated to change with new idents recently TELETOON logo was wth word 'TELE' and between 'T & 'N' It shows two eyes and smile in the bottom (look above).
